AC Milan have expressed strong interest in Nigerian striker Tolu Arokodare as they continue their pursuit of a new centre-forward ahead of the new season, NaijNaira can report.
According to Corriere dello Sport, the Rossoneri are focused on finding a striker who offers physical presence and aerial threat, similar to former star Olivier Giroud.
Arokodare, who stands at 6’6”, scored 23 goals and delivered seven assists in 45 matches across all competitions last season for Belgian side Genk.
The 23-year-old also featured for Nigeria during the Unity Cup in May and has three international caps under his belt.
Milan are reportedly working within a €20m–€25m transfer budget, and Arokodare’s valuation aligns with their spending range from last summer.
The club is also keeping tabs on other options, including fellow Nigeria international Victor Boniface, whose reported price tag sits between €40m and €45m.
“Arokodare is powerful, mobile, and has the kind of profile Milan want,” a source close to the club said.
Milan’s interest comes as they seek competition and backup for January signing Santiago Gimenez, who joined from Feyenoord for €35m.
