Fenerbahce have completed the signing of Nigeria international Flourish Chioma Sabastine from Galatasaray, NaijNaira can report. The forward has signed a one-year deal with the Istanbul-based club as she prepares for the new Turkish Women’s Football Super League season.
According to a statement posted on Fenerbahce’s official website, club board member Mustafa Kemal Danabaş, who oversees women’s football, attended the signing at the Fenerbahçe Şükrü Saracoğlu Stadium.
Sabastine joined Fenerbahce less than nine months after arriving at Galatasaray, making her the second forward to switch between the rival clubs this summer after Andrea Stašková moved from Galatasaray to Fenerbahce.
The 20-year-old began her football journey at Unnich FA before rising through the ranks at Bayelsa Queens, where she helped the team win three domestic titles.
Her performances for Nigeria’s U20 team at the FIFA Women’s World Cups in 2022 and 2024 drew international attention. She scored vital goals against France, Korea Republic, and Venezuela.
“She’s a natural finisher with real pace and intelligence,” one club insider said.
Sabastine earned her first Super Falcons cap in 2022, replacing Uchenna Kanu during a friendly match against Japan.
