Kaizer Chiefs appear interested in bringing Nigerian striker Etiosa Ighodaro on board, but no deal has been finalized yet, NaijNaira can report.
According to Soccer Laduma, the 24-year-old forward, who netted five goals during a loan spell at AmaZulu last season, has not committed to any club.
The striker is reportedly weighing up offers from both local clubs and overseas, with Moroccan outfit MAS Fès emerging as a possible destination.
“There’s been a lot of talk about Ighodaro joining Chiefs, but the reports suggesting he has signed are inaccurate,” the publication quoted a source close to the player.
“He is still assessing his options both locally and abroad. Nothing has been concluded,” the source added.
Kaizer Chiefs, who are reshaping their attacking line, recently signed Portuguese striker Flavio Silva, who featured during their European pre-season tour.
Silva steps in to replace Ranga Chivaviro, whose exit left a gap in the frontline.
Amakhosi’s confirmed new arrivals this season include Thabiso Monyane, Paseka Mako, Nkanyiso Shinga, Ethan Chislett, Flavio Silva, and Siphesihle Ndlovu.
Despite ongoing speculation, Ighodaro was not part of the squad that returned from Europe or listed among the club’s current signings.
