Paris Saint-Germain are finalizing a move to replace Gianluigi Donnarumma with Lucas Chevalier in a deal worth €55 million, effectively ending the Italian’s time at the club – www.naijnaira.com reports.

RMC Sport reveals PSG struck a €40 million agreement with Lille, plus €15 million in potential bonuses, to sign Chevalier as their next first-choice goalkeeper.

This development follows a breakdown in contract talks with Donnarumma, whose wage demands reportedly crossed the line for club executives.

L’Equipe confirms PSG are racing against time to register Chevalier before the UEFA Super Cup match against Tottenham on August 13 in Udine.

Donnarumma had hoped to feature in that clash on Italian soil, but all signs suggest his last appearance came in the Champions League final.

He helped PSG secure four trophies last season, including their historic 5–0 Champions League final win over Inter Milan.

“He was decisive at every stage of our run,” a PSG official told French press.

The 26-year-old’s heroics have landed him nominations for both the Ballon d’Or and the Yachine Award.

PSG’s decision to let go of such a high-performing player has raised eyebrows, especially given the €55 million spent on his successor.

Donnarumma, who joined from Milan in 2021 as a free agent, had been earning one of the highest wages in the squad.

Now, with Chevalier on his way in, PSG’s reshuffle between the posts seems all but confirmed.
