The Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library has accused the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission of storming its premises in the early hours of Sunday, describing the incident as an unlawful invasion – www.naijnaira.com reports.
According to the library’s management, the armed operatives arrived around 2 a.m. and disrupted a private event within the complex, causing panic and injuries among attendees.
The raid was said to be led by an operative identified as Olapade, who allegedly fired shots and issued death threats.
In a statement released by Managing Director Vitalis Ortese, the OOPL described the operation as “a gross violation of human rights” and warned the EFCC to issue an apology or face legal action.
Management insisted that police officers were already on duty at the venue and none had prior knowledge of the EFCC’s plan.
The library has opened its own investigation and vowed to escalate the matter to the police and DSS.
