In a demolition drive carried out by the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA), an expensive duplex built on an unapproved land in Wuse Zone 6, Abuja, was taken down.

The Director of the Department of Development Control, Mr Mukhtar Galadima, stated that the building was illegally developed despite warnings.

Extensive investigation was conducted to determine the original owner of the plot, as there were conflicting claims from different parties.

It was discovered that the developer was not the rightful owner, leading to the demolition of the building.

The FCT Administration is firm in its stance that any developer who violates development rules and regulations will not be exempt from consequences.

The duplex was allowed to reach its current stage before being demolished to ensure that all necessary processes were followed.
