During a lecture and book presentation in Abuja, Senate President Godswill Akpabio expressed his dissatisfaction with the behavior of governors in Nigeria towards their successors.

He stated that conflicts often arise between governors and their successors immediately after assuming office.

Akpabio cited examples such as Senator Adams Oshiomole, Senator Adamu Ailero, and the situation in Ekiti state with Abiodun Oyebamiji.

However, he praised the Governor of Ekiti state for his steadfastness and lack of issues with his successor.

Akpabio emphasized the need to celebrate individuals like Senator Michael Opeyemi Bamidele for their character and loyalty.

In addition, Bamidele revealed that the Senate will receive the much-anticipated ministerial list from President Bola Tinubu within the next 24 hours.

The event was attended by prominent Nigerians, including current and former governors and top traditional rulers.
