In light of these issues, President Buhari set up a committee chaired by himself as Minister for Petroleum Resources and alternate chairperson Timipre Sylva.
Additionally, there have been reports that Nigeria was losing an estimated 700,000 barrels of crude oil daily due to activities of smugglers and other forms of illegal activity.
The committee led by President Buhari is aiming to tackle these issues and eliminate fuel scarcity in Nigeria by October 2022.
