Akpabio Responds to Natasha's Shocking Murder Allegation

Senate President Godswill Akpabio has reacted to fresh allegations made against him by Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan.

Akpoti-Uduaghan, speaking at a rally in her hometown of Ihima, Okehi Local Government Area, Kogi State, on Tuesday, accused Akpabio of plotting against her. She claimed that Akpabio ordered former Kogi Governor Yahaya Bello to kill her.

According to Akpoti-Uduaghan, Akpabio instructed Governor Usman Ododo to recall her from the Senate. She added that on March 14, just two days before the recall, Akpabio spoke to Ododo about her removal, but he was reportedly told that it would be impossible due to her popularity.

She went on to say, “He then called for Yahaya Bello. And it was actually Senator Asuquo (Asuquo Ekpenyong, Cross River South) from Cross River who drove Yahaya Bello from Hilton Hotel.”

Akpoti-Uduaghan also alleged that Akpabio instructed Bello to fund her recall and even plotted her murder. She stated, “He told him to make sure that killing me does not happen in Abuja, that it should be done here so it will seem as if it’s the people that killed me here.”

In response, Akpabio dismissed the allegations, with his media aide, Eseme Eyiboh, stating that he would not engage in any argument with the suspended senator.

Eyiboh further clarified, “Anything concerning Natasha within the purview of the law is subjudice because there is no way you will comment on it without linking it to the President of the Senate, who is also a party to the suit.”
