Annie Macaulay has confirmed her split from Nigerian music legend 2Baba, marking the end of their marriage. The actress publicly acknowledged their divorce during the 17th Headies Awards, where she took the stage with Farooq Oreagba to present the award for Best Afrobeat Singer of the Year.
According to Punch Newspapers, Annie corrected herself as she introduced herself, dropping the “Idibia” surname and reclaiming her maiden name, Macaulay. “Annie Idi… Oh sorry, Annie Macaulay. Hey, single ladies!” she said, drawing cheers from the crowd.
This revelation comes after months of speculation following 2Baba’s public announcement of their separation in January 2025. Annie had previously hinted at the split by signing off with her full name, Annie Uwana Macaulay, on Instagram in March, omitting the “Idibia” name.
Since their breakup, 2Baba has moved on and proposed to his new fiancée, Natasha Osawaru, a lawmaker from Edo State. The public announcement of their separation and his subsequent engagement has sparked rumors about a potential wedding in the near future.
