The All Progressives Congress (APC) has made it clear that Bola Tinubu, its presidential candidate for the 2023 election, is not 79 or 83 years old as perceived by many.
According to a statement released on Tuesday by Bayo Onanuga, one of Tinubu’s media aides via Facebook, he said the former Lagos State Governor is 70 years old and will be 71 come this year.
Controversy over his age emerged in 2021 when Wikipedia locked his page due to persistent vandalism as numerous accounts edited his age multiple times.
As recorded in the newly-released audio statement Tinubu was born in 1952 and would have clocked 60 came 2012 but for the purpose of mischief-makers who always put his age above what he stated.
