The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), according to the All Progressives Congress (APC), is making accusations against Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, the APC’s presidential candidate in the 2023 elections, because of his popularity.
This was stated in a statement made by Mr. Bayo Onanuga, Director, Media and Publicity, APC Presidential Campaign Council (PCC), on Sunday in Abuja.
He claimed that the PDP had acknowledged that Tinubu would win the presidency without a doubt on February 25, 2023.
Onanuga was responding to a recent accusation made against Tinubu by Mr. Phrank Shaibu, the Special Media Assistant to PDP presidential candidate Alhaji Atiku Abubakar.
Onanuga remarked, “In another idiotic act, Shuaibu pushed our candidate (Tinubu) to provide his entire name and proceeded on a dream journey about his early education and parentage.”
Such things, he claimed, have long since been consigned to history’s trash bin.
Onanuga continued, “However, the APC PCC was not shocked that the desperate Atiku Camp would engage in another round of mudslinging given the accumulating defeats in its campaign.”
This, he claimed, was especially true when it was unable to profit from its expanded drug-dealing charge against the APC presidential candidate.
We must admit that this most recent accusation is another effort at shadowboxing, according to Onanuga.
Having failed to deceive Nigerians during its 16 years of “infamous government,” he said, the PDP had just now realized that Tinubu will win the presidency on February 25, 2023.
The APC PCC Director of Media and Publicity stated that it was because of this that character assassination and innuendo had become a desperate last resort.
“However, we have sympathy for Atiku and his mudslingers because we understand their motivation for grasping at any available straw. They become terrified that the election would be lost once more. The (Nigerian) constitution is extremely explicit on the rights of a citizen to contest for president, and our candidate has fulfilled those requirements, as evidenced by the tremendous turnout of Nigerians to welcome Tinubu in Kaduna, Minna, Abuja, and other parts of the country in the past week.
