The national vice chairman (South-South) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Dan Orbih, has expressed his dissatisfaction with the state of affairs in the Edo State chapter of the party.

Speaking at a meeting of leaders of the legacy group of the party in Edo North and other stakeholders, Orbih highlighted his concerns about the party’s candidate, Asue Ighodalo, and the current PDP leadership led by Governor Godwin Obaseki.

Orbih made it clear that he does not believe Ighodalo is the way forward for the party and the state. He emphasized that the legacy group faction of the party will support any candidate who can truly represent the interests of the people of Edo State. Orbih also announced his rejection of his membership of the PDP campaign council for the upcoming governorship election in September.

The PDP leader explained that his decision stems from the belief that all is not well within the Edo State PDP. He expressed his disappointment with the current state of affairs and denounced his membership of the campaign council. Orbih stressed that Obaseki and his chosen candidate, Ighodalo, are not the solution to the party’s challenges.

Orbih further highlighted the values that the legacy group of the party stands for, including unity, fairness, justice, and equity. He pointed out that since Obaseki joined the party in 2020, he has neglected the group that played a significant role in his re-election.

As the upcoming election approaches, Orbih and the legacy group are determined to ensure that the people of Edo State understand the importance of choosing a candidate who can lead the state towards a better future.

Their focus is on the well-being of Edo State and the need for effective leadership.
