Ademola Lookman is on track to leave Atalanta this summer, but any club aiming to sign the Super Eagles forward must put more than €50 million on the table.
The exciting attacker, who has become one of the most talked-about players in this transfer window, has caught the attention of several top clubs, including Arsenal, Barcelona, Atletico Madrid, Juventus, and Napoli.
According to Corriere di Bergamo, Atalanta have already rejected a €50 million offer from Napoli and are standing firm on a minimum €60 million fee.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano first reported Lookman’s likely exit as far back as February. Even with early confirmations, his next club is still up in the air, with top European sides keeping a close eye on his situation.
Napoli recently entered the chase and are keen to secure a deal as soon as possible. However, Atalanta’s firm stance could keep negotiations going well into the summer.
“La Dea can be difficult customers when it comes to transfers, and they tend to drain their buyers till the last penny,” the report adds.
Lookman’s contract is set to expire next summer, which leaves Atalanta with a tough choice. If they hold out for too long, they risk losing him for free. Given the club’s tight budget, they may eventually need to lower their demands if talks stall.
