On Tuesday, the former Vice President of Nigeria and presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2023 elections, Atiku Abubakar, returned to Abuja after a visit to Yola, the capital of Adamawa State.
Atiku was accompanied by Governor Ahmadu Fintiri of Adamawa State and some of his aides as he arrived in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
During his stay in Yola, he celebrated the Eid-el-Fitr holidays with friends and family, as well as received guests at his residence.
In a tweet from his verified Twitter account, Atiku expressed his excitement to be back in the nation’s capital after what he referred to as a “fruitful period” in Yola.
Although he did not disclose the purpose of his trip or what activities he undertook in Yola, it is clear that he is now back in Abuja to continue his activities.
Atiku is a prominent figure in Nigerian politics, having served as Vice President during the administration of Olusegun Obasanjo from 1999 to 2007.
He has also been a presidential candidate in several elections, including the 2023 elections, which he lost to APC’s Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
