Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is ‘depressed’ at Chelsea and wants to find an exit route back to Barcelona ‘at any price’, according to his entourage who spoke to Spanish publication AS.

The striker moved to the Blues in the summer transfer window, but since Graham Potter’s appointment has struggled for playing time and is now said to be ‘not happy’.

Xavi, Barcelona manager, has urged him to bide his time until a potential move can take place as Memphis Depay’s future at the club remains uncertain.

Though if a move is made Aubameyang would have to significantly reduce his wages in order to make it happen, which could mean cutting ties from Chelsea altogether.

Atletico Madrid have reportedly enquired over a move but this couldn’t go ahead until the summer due to FIFA registration rules.

Paul Merson believes Potter’s decision of substituting Aubameyang during their last game against Manchester City broke an “unwritten rule”, meaning it could spell the end of his career at Chelsea.
