Barcelona are reportedly set to take advantage of the deal for Memphis Depay’s move to Atletico Madrid in order to secure the option to sign Yannick Carrasco from the Rojiblancos for €15 million in the summer.
Carrasco is a key player for Atletico and a regular starter, often operating on the left flank as either a winger or wing-back.
Barcelona manager Xavi Hernandez is supposedly quite keen on acquiring Carrasco, and with limited funds available this transfer window, securing his signature at a future date would be ideal for them.
Reports from Spain state that the fee could actually end up being around €20 million for Carrasco, however, journalist Gerard Romero suggests it is just €15 million.
In his appearances so far this La Liga season, he has managed to score one goal and create three big chances while playing under Diego Simeone’s system.
