Bayern Munich have officially completed the signing of Colombian winger Luis Diaz from Liverpool in a high-profile transfer that could reach €75 million — www.naijnaira.com reports.
According to AFP, Diaz agreed to a long-term deal that keeps him at the Bundesliga club until 2029, ending his spell with the Premier League champions where he lifted the league title, FA Cup, and League Cup.
“Luis Diaz is one of the strongest left wingers in England,” said Bayern CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen. “His experience and mentality from Liverpool add real value here.”
At 28, Diaz expressed enthusiasm about joining the German side, calling it a “huge honor” to be part of one of football’s most globally recognized clubs.
“I’m here to help this team win everything, and that’s the target we’ll chase together every day,” he said in his first statement as a Bayern player.
Last season, Diaz played 50 matches and netted 17 goals, playing a crucial role as Liverpool claimed their 20th league title under Arne Slot.
He was noticeably absent from Liverpool’s recent 4-2 friendly loss to AC Milan in Hong Kong, further fueling exit rumors at the time.
Diaz’s arrival gives Bayern immediate reinforcements up front following Jamal Musiala’s extended spell on the sidelines with a broken leg and dislocated ankle.
