Bobrisky, the popular Nigerian crossdresser and socialite, recently shared his experience as a victim of an online romance scam.
According to a report from Punch Newspaper, Bobrisky revealed that a fraudster tricked him into losing $990 by pretending to be genuinely interested in him.
He expressed his shock and disbelief, saying, “I never thought in my life I would be a client to anybody.”
The scam began months ago when the fraudster contacted Bobrisky on Instagram and claimed to have lived in the United States before moving to Canada.
The fraudster reached out to Bobrisky regularly, calling him almost every day and pretending to care about his life.
Things took a turn when a supposed client from the U.S. wanted to pay via CashApp for an advertisement.
Bobrisky asked the fraudster for help in receiving the payment, and the scammer provided his CashApp details.
After the fraudster received the payment, he immediately blocked Bobrisky.
Bobrisky later shared screenshots of their conversations and a photo of the scammer. He urged his followers to stay vigilant and avoid falling for similar schemes.
