Bolt Drivers Threaten Strike Over Subsidy Removal

Here Is The Easy Money-Making Trick Everyone Is Talking About! Learn More Here!

Bolt drivers in Calabar are planning to go on strike for three days to demand an increase in their bonus and fare.

The drivers, who are part of the Amalgamated Union of App-Based Transport Workers of Nigeria, claim that the recent increase in the pump price of petrol and consequential rise in the price of spare parts has made it difficult for them to meet their expenses.

They are demanding an increase in the fare to at least N1,000 as a baseline and a reduction in the commission collected by the company, which they claim is currently about 35%.

The group’s treasurer, Mike Neji, described the terms and conditions given to bolt drivers in Calabar as the “most unfavorable in the country” and warned that they might be compelled to look for an alternative if the company did not meet their demand.

The company’s officials in Calabar have not yet reacted to the development.
