Tinubu Removes Nami as FIRS Boss, Appoints Adedeji

President Bola Tinubu has made changes to the leadership of the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS). Hon. Zacch Adedeji has been appointed as the new Acting Executive Chairman, replacing Muhammad Nami.

Nami has been directed to take a three-month pre-retirement leave, leading to his eventual retirement from service on December 8, 2023.

Adedeji will serve in an acting capacity for 90 days before being confirmed as the substantive Executive Chairman for a term of four years.

Adedeji is a first-class graduate in accounting and has previously served as the Special Adviser to the President on Revenue, as well as holding positions in Oyo State and the National Sugar Development Council.

The appointment takes immediate effect.
