The Brazilian Football Association (FA) president, Ednaldo Rodrigues, has announced plans to meet with Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti or his representative to discuss the possibility of appointing him as the new head coach of Brazil.

While Ancelotti has publicly stated that he will honour the last year of his contract with Real, Rodrigues has not ruled out waiting until July 2024 to appoint the four-time Champions League winner.

Rodrigues emphasized that any decision regarding the appointment of a new coach will be made in consultation with the board and players, as their opinions are crucial.

The Brazilian FA has identified Ancelotti as one of the best coaches in the world and believes he would be an ideal fit for the national team.

Brazil has been without a coach since the resignation of Tite following their quarterfinal exit at the 2022 World Cup in December.
