At the end of its recent meeting, Nigeria’s Council of State supported the Naira Redesign policy of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).
The council urged CBN Governor Godwin Emefiele to make new notes available or recirculate the old ones in order to relieve Nigerians’ suffering.
Taraba and Lagos Governors Darius Ishaku and Babajide Sanwo-Olu, alongside AGF Abubakar Malami, stated that INEC Chairman Prof. Mahmood Yakubu and IGP Alkali Baba Usman had assured Council members that they are fully prepared for 2023 general election.
They also mentioned that former Heads of State and President Gen. Yakubu Gowon and Gen. Abdulsalami Abubakar, as well as former President Olusegun Obasanjo, were present at the hybrid meeting along with two former Chief Justices of Nigeria: Alfa Belgore and Mahmud Muhammad.
