Hot on the heels of the transfer window opening, there are reports that Tottenham Hotspur’s £83,000-a-week player Bryan Gil is set to leave England for Spain.

Reports from Fabrizio Romano on Twitter suggest that Tottenham Hotspur’s Bryan Gil will be leaving the club, with Sevilla said to be closing in on a loan deal for the 21-year-old.

Gil is currently earning £83,000-per-week and the move would not include an option to make the deal permanent.

A medical has been scheduled and it appears that Tottenham have deemed it unnecessary for him to stay at the club due to lack of playing time.

The Spanish international has made four appearances, two starts and two subs, in the Premier League so far this season and even provided an assist during his time.

He also had brief spells in both Carabao Cup and UEFA Champions League for Spurs.

With this in mind, it seems a wise decision for Gil to make use of his talent by joining Sevilla and hone his skills instead of being left on the bench at Spurs.
