President Muhammadu Buhari has appointed Dr Ademola Iyanda Ebeloku as the second substantive rector of the Federal Polytechnic Ile-Oluji, Ondo State.
The appointment, which took effect from Monday, April 3, 2023, will last for five years.
The 56-year-old Ebeloku received his letter of appointment from the Minister of Education, Mallam Adamu Adamu, on Monday, April 17, 2023, in Abuja.
Before his appointment, there was a rigorous selection process that led to his emergence.
Prior to this, Ebeloku was the acting rector of Lens Polytechnic, Offa, Kwara State, and a former dean of the School of Business and Management Studies at the Federal Polytechnic, Offa, Kwara State, between December 2018 and March 2022.
Ebeloku holds a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Business Administration with Second Class Upper Division in 1994, a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in 2002, a Master of Science (MSc) in Management Science in 2006, and a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Business Administration with specialisation in Human Capital Management in 2018, all from the University of Ilorin, Kwara State.
He also bagged a postgraduate diploma in education (PGDE) in 2007 and a certificate in computer programming in 2001 from the National Teachers Institute, Kaduna, and the Federal Polytechnic, Offa, respectively.
Ebeloku began his academic career at Federal Polytechnic, Offa, as an assistant lecturer in January 1997, where he rose through the ranks to become a chief lecturer in the Department of Business Administration in July 2015.
He was born in Ila Orangun, Osun State and is happily married with four children.
