The Nigerian Minister of Education, Adamu Adamu, has unveiled a new curriculum for Nigerian universities aimed at equipping graduates with the necessary skills, knowledge, and expertise to succeed in the 21st century.
The Core Curriculum Minimum Academic Standards (CCMAS) Book 1 series was presented at a public event in Abuja, where Mr. Adamu called for its full implementation.
The National Universities Commission (NUC) has taken steps to ensure that Nigerian universities meet current global demands, including the establishment of more private universities in the country.
The NUC executive secretary, Rasheed Abubakar, praised the CCMAS as a game-changer in Nigerian universities and credited former NUC executive secretary Peter Okebukola as the chief architect of the curriculum.
Former chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Attahiru Jega, also commended the new curriculum as a valuable addition to repositioning the Nigerian education system.
