Dr. Bature AbdulAziz, the National President of the Patriotic Elders Forum of Nigeria, has strongly criticized those who are calling for the suspension of the swearing-in of President-elect Senator Bola Tinubu.
AbdulAziz believes that such calls are tantamount to calling for anarchy and that some people are deliberately trying to create uncertainty in the country.
He pointed out that the law allows for the President-elect or Governor-elect to take an oath of office while any legal challenges are ongoing, and therefore, there is no basis for the calls to suspend the swearing-in.
“Why are you calling for the suspension of swearing-in? What you are asking for, has it any position in the law or in Nigeria’s history?” He queried.
“So, why are some people killing themselves in the name of trying to stop the swearing-in, this is baseless, they are speaking out of ignorance,” he said.
AbdulAziz dismissed such calls as baseless and ignorant.
