The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has announced its intention to intervene in the recent price hikes implemented by Point of Sale (PoS) operators in the country.
PoS agents have been meeting with stakeholders to discuss changes in transaction charges for their services, and there has been an increase in PoS charges across Lagos, Ogun, and Edo states.
Other states are also planning to follow suit and increase their transaction fees.
The CBN is aware of the issue and is working towards resolving the situation.
The PoS operators claim that they are adjusting their prices to reflect the current economic realities in the country.
