Chelsea is on the verge of announcing the signing of Moises Caicedo on an eight-year deal.
The Blues will pay £100m for Caicedo, with an additional £15m in performance bonuses.
This fee is more than 20 times what Manchester United would have paid for him in 2020.
The saga surrounding Caicedo’s transfer has been ongoing for weeks, with Liverpool also showing interest.
However, Caicedo had a personal agreement with Chelsea in May and did not want to go back on his word.
The 21-year-old arrived at Chelsea’s training grounds on August 14 for his medical.
While it may seem like Caicedo appeared out of nowhere, he has been on the radar of big clubs since
Manchester United had previously shown interest in signing him but missed out due to various factors.
In the end, Caicedo secured his dream move to English football by joining Brighton and Hove Albion.
