Reports suggest Chelsea winger Hakim Ziyech could snub Premier League interest from Newcastle, Everton and Aston Villa to instead join French side Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) before the transfer deadline on Tuesday.
Initially, due to heavy competition for places from other players such as Christian Pulisic and Mason Mount, Ziyech played five times in Chelsea’s first 16 games of the season.
However, with new arrivals Mykhaylo Mudryk and Noni Madueke providing fresh competition for him, Ziyech has been limited in game time since despite setting up the winner against Crystal Palace last week.
According to L’Equipe, negotiations between PSG and Chelsea are ongoing with discussions surrounding the ‘formula’ of a loan move or permanent transfer yet to be locked in but likely to happen before the window closes.
Transfer guru Fabrizio Romano has suggested these talks are “advanced”.Ziyech may wish to take this opportunity as PSG have an excellent chance at topping the French Liga dis season while also giving him a chance to play alongside Lionel Messi, Kylian Mbappe and Neymar as part of an all-star lineup.
However, he may think twice about how much playing time he is likely to get should he make this move due to having such powerful competition for places on the team.
