Cristiano Ronaldo suffers first loss in Saudi Arabian move

On Thursday night, Cristiano Ronaldo’s Al Nassr side lost 3-1 in the Saudi Super Cup, marking Ronaldo’s first official defeat since his move to Saudi Arabia from Manchester United.

Al Ittihad were the victors at King Fahd International Stadium, with goals from Romarinho, Abderrazak Hamdallah and Muhannad Al-Shanqeeti accounting for the win.

Despite a 43rd minute header from Ronaldo which was stopped by Al-Ittihad goalkeeper Marcelo Grohe, Al Nassr were unable to level the match.

Anderson Talisca netted a consolation goal for Al Nassr in the 67th minute but it wasn’t enough to keep them alive in the cup competition.

While ending in defeat for Ronaldo and his side, his first official game for Al Nassr ended with a 1-0 win against Ettifaq.
