Jurors in the trial of Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs have returned a partial verdict, reaching decisions on four out of five charges in his ongoing federal case, NaijNaira can report.
The trial, according to The Independent, saw 12 jurors—eight men and four women—deliberate for nearly two days before breaking the deadlock on most charges.
The only unresolved count remains the racketeering conspiracy charge, where jurors reported being split by “unpersuadable opinions on both sides.”
Deliberations resumed on July 2nd at 9am following a majority decision delivered at 4pm the previous day.
For the racketeering charge, jurors must determine that Combs was knowingly part of a criminal enterprise involving at least two crimes with interstate impact.
The jury is weighing accusations including drug distribution, bribery, kidnapping, forced labour, arson, witness tampering, and sex trafficking.
Judge Arun Subramanian addressed the jury directly, urging them to push toward consensus while respecting individual reasoning.
“I ask that you keep deliberating,” Subramanian said in court. “You should not hesitate to change an opinion when convinced that it is erroneous.”
He reminded them to decide “without regard to sympathy, prejudice, or favour” and to follow the court’s instructions on the law.
Combs has pleaded not guilty to all charges, including sex trafficking by force and transporting individuals for prostitution.
If found guilty, he could face a maximum sentence of life in prison.
