The public has been asked to disregard rumours circulating since Monday that the leader of a Nigerian Shiite group, Ibraheem El-Zakzaky, is dead.
In a Twitter update via its known Twitter handle, the Islamic Human Rights Commission (IHRC) said El-Zakzaky is alive.

“Please disregard rumours circulating this morning that Sheikh El-Zakzaky has passed away,” the international Islamic human rights organization said.
