The Labour Party is experiencing internal drama as its factional leadership has called for the arrest of its presidential candidate, Peter Obi, and any party member advocating for an Interim National Government.
The National Publicity Secretary of the faction, Abayomi Arabambi, made this statement during an interview with journalists in Abuja on Saturday.
Arabambi accused Obi and other party members of attempting to prevent the inauguration of President-elect, Bola Tinubu, on May 29 and called for their interrogation and prosecution if found guilty.
He also criticized the LP’s legal team for failing to brief the faction on the petition to challenge Tinubu’s victory in the February 25 presidential election.
The faction is committed to upholding democratic principles and ensuring that the will of the people is respected, but if the legal team fails to brief them on the petition within 48 hours, they will appoint new lawyers to take over the case.
