Africa Magic held a watch party on Friday to unveil its Ripples sequel, Ripples: New Generation, which received positive feedback from viewers.
The series, which was created by Zeb Ejiro, first aired in 1988 and was successful despite being shown on a Friday evening when few people watched television.
Ejiro said that bringing back the show was a way to recreate the nostalgic magic of the original.
The new series will focus on the challenges of oil spillage and environmental consequences, as well as the battle for freedom and the need to succeed against all odds.
It will feature a diverse cast of actors and will air on Africa Magic Showcase from 21 June.
