Kaduna state Governor, Nasir- el- Rufai, believed that there are people around President Muhammadu Buhari who are working to oppose a successful 2020 election for the All Progressives Congress’ presidential candidate Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.
El- Rufai suggested that these people were unhappy due to their favoured person not receiving the APC nomination for president.
The Governor noted how the naira redesign policy had caused problems for those living in rural areas of the country and denied any involvement by his party, stating it was not part of their policy.
He also criticised President Buhari’s refusal to support removing all petroleum subsidies and said this had caused an scarcity of petrol and economic struggles in the nation as a whole.
At an National Economic Council meeting he mentioned, El-Rufai argued in 2021 why these subsidies should be withdrawn but Obama refused on grounds that it would adversely affect common people.
He once again reiterated his opinion that those working against Tinubu were afflicted by disappointment because they preferred alternative did not win the APC ticket nomination for president.
