Victor Osimhen’s side, Napoli is on the verge of ending the reign of Juventus, Inter, and Milan in Serie A, as they are set to clinch their third Scudetto.

The big three have won a total of 74 Serie A titles, but for the first time in 22 years, none of them will be crowned Champions of Italy.

Napoli will secure the title if they beat Salernitana and Lazio fails to win against Inter.

This will be their third Scudetto, with the previous two achieved with Diego Armando Maradona in the squad.

However, the last time a team other than Inter, Juve, or Milan won the title was Roma in 2000-01.

Since then, Juventus has won it 11 times (unofficially 13), Inter six times, and Milan three times.

The dominance of the big three in Serie A cannot be underestimated, with only Sampdoria in 1990-91, Lazio in 1999-2000, and Roma in 2000-01 interrupting their hegemony since Napoli’s last title win in 1989-90.

It truly marks the end of an era in Italian football.
