Erik ten Hag Faces Man Utd Transfer Decision Conundrum As Deadline Looms

Erik ten Hag has some important decisions to make before the end of the January transfer window.

He has already added players to his squad and most likely won’t pursue any more signings.

However, with the unpredictability of the transfer window, who knows what could happen.

Ten Hag has allowed many young players to leave on loan this season and Shola Shoretire was recently sent to Bolton Wanderers until the end of this campaign.

One player who is being linked with a move away is Anthony Elanga who is attracting interest from Dutch side PSV Eindhoven.

The 20-year-old forward has had limited playing time this season, which is drastically different from last season when he worked alongside Ralf Rangnick and was much more involved in the first-team squad.

It was previously rumoured that Everton were looking into signing Elanga but they now seem to be moving in another direction after bringing in Newcastle United’s Anthony Gordon for £45m.

Ruud van Nistelrooy, PSV manager commented “Of course, I can’t name names, but we are working hard on it because it is necessary” regarding signing Elanga soon.

Marcus Rashford, Antony Martial, Alejandro Garnacho and Facundo Pellistri have just been some of the few attackers ahead of him in line this season and he will require regular minutes if he wants to get back to form like last term when he achieved 27 appearances across all competitions as well as scoring a goal against Atletico Madrid in the Champions League round-of-16.

Erik ten Hag may remain reluctant to let Elanga go temporarily due to the intense schedule coming up but allowing him out on loan could be beneficial for both club and player while providing a way for him to reclaim his senior career.
