Ansu Fati has reacted to the prospect of Lionel Messi making a sensational return to Barcelona after nabbing the iconic No10 shirt 12 months ago.
The seven-time Ballon d’Or winner joined PSG on a free transfer, linking up with ex-Barca team-mate Neymar and as the diamond gem of Mauricio Pochettino’s star-studded squad.
One year on from one of the most remarkable transfer sagas in modern times, Barcelona President Joan Laporta refused to rule out a spectacular return to the Camp Nou.
And rising starlet Fati would also be in favour of Messi rekindling his connection with the Catalan club.
“Leo Messi returning to play for Barca would be the best of farewells,” Fati told Spanish television network tv3cat. “We would love him to return to Barcelona. He is the best player in history.”
Messi has just 12 months remaining on his contract in Paris, with the option of a further year, and could be tempted by a homecoming reunion to play under former team-mate Xavi.
