Former President Goodluck Jonathan has made a heartfelt plea to Nigerians to pray for his mother, Eunice Jonathan, who recently lost eight of her children.
During the funeral service of his elder sister, Obebhatein Jonathan, Mr. Jonathan called on the nation to support his mother during this difficult time.
The funeral service took place at the Dame Patience Jonathan Square in Otuoke, Bayelsa State. Seventy-year-old Ms. Obebhatein passed away on January 11 after a brief illness.
With her passing, Mr. Jonathan is now the only surviving son of his mother. Expressing his concern for his mother’s well-being, Mr. Jonathan shared that she has not been the same since the death of his sister.
He requested the prayers and support of Nigerians to help his mother find solace and strength during this challenging period.
During the service, Dogood Qkpufu, the second son of the deceased, urged women to draw inspiration from his mother’s life.
He highlighted her determination to become a graduate, which ultimately led her to become a teacher. Mr. Qkpufu praised his mother’s simplicity, generosity, and strong faith in God.
Omonibele Azibanyeluan, daughter of the late Obebhatein, also spoke about her mother’s admirable qualities. She described her as a good woman who embodied peace, patience, and devotion to God.
Former President Goodluck Jonathan expressed his gratitude to everyone who attended the burial, acknowledging the support and condolences received from well-wishers.
