Frank Lampard is set to return to Chelsea as the interim boss until the end of the season, and he will be joined by some familiar faces in his coaching team.

Club legend Ashley Cole, as well as Joe Edwards and Chris Jones, will be part of Lampard’s backroom staff.

Both Edwards and Jones followed Lampard from Chelsea to Everton, while Cole was a former coach at Goodison.

Chelsea’s co-owners are reportedly considering Luis Enrique and Julian Nagelsmann as potential permanent bosses, but for now, Lampard will lead the team through the remainder of the season, including a crucial Champions League quarter-final against Real Madrid.

The team’s previous coach, Graham Potter, has left the club, and former Brighton captain Bruno Saltor took charge for one game, a goalless draw against Liverpool.

Chelsea’s next game is against Wolves, followed by the match against Real Madrid, which could define their season.

Despite the team’s current position in the Premier League, the owners have expressed their commitment to finishing the season on a high note.
