President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has established a tripartite economic advisory committee to address the challenges facing Nigeria’s economy.
The committee comprises renowned businessmen such as Aliko Dangote, Abdulsamad Rabiu, Tony Elumelu, and other representatives from the Federal and State governments as well as the Organised Private Sector.
During a meeting with critical stakeholders at the State House in Abuja, President Tinubu emphasized the importance of bringing life back to the economy and addressing the needs of the Nigerian people.
He acknowledged the concerns of students, mothers, fathers, farmers, and traders, and expressed the government’s commitment to providing hope and assurance of economic recovery.
The committee’s discussions primarily focused on the economy, food security, and job creation.
Aliko Dangote, in a briefing after the meeting, highlighted the committee’s intention to address these issues and provide recommendations to the President.
Chukwuma Soludo, former Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, also emphasized the committee’s role in making economic recommendations.
The full list of businessmen present at the meeting includes Aliko Dangote, Femi Otedola, Amina Maina, Boye Olusanya, Segun Ajayi-Kadir, Tony Elumelu, Bismarck Rewane, Samala Zubairu, Innocent Chukwuma, Jubril Adewale Tinubu, Governor Chukwuma Soludo, Governor Dapo Abiodun, and CBN Governor Olayemi Cardoso.
