Amid swirling rumours about Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso possibly defecting to the All Progressives Congress (APC), Buba Galadima has made his stance clear, NaijNaira can report.
Galadima, a key figure in the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), told Arise TV there is no proof Kwankwaso is planning to join APC. The speculation gained traction following Abdullahi Ganduje’s resignation as APC National Chairman.
“There is no evidence. People are sharing photos, but none can prove he’s holding an APC membership card,” Galadima said.
He described Kwankwaso as a quiet but powerful political figure, pointing out that many Nigerians are already rallying behind him without any formal campaign.
“Kwankwaso doesn’t even need to speak. People are already campaigning for him, free of charge. That says a lot,” Galadima said during the interview.
He claimed multiple political parties, including the APC and PDP, have approached Kwankwaso, but the former Kano State governor remains firmly rooted in NNPP.
“He is firm. We are staying with our party until the right time—if there’s ever going to be a change,” Galadima stated.
He also slammed the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), accusing it of failing to act against premature campaigning by public office holders.
“INEC doesn’t have the moral strength to stop this nonsense. This is time for governance, not campaigns. It gives the government an excuse not to perform,” he warned.
