John Amos, known for his role in “Good Times,” has refused the money raised by his daughter on GoFundMe.
Shannon Amos had started a campaign claiming that her father was fighting for his life in a hospital after being a victim of elder abuse and financial crimes.
However, John has denied these claims and declined the funds raised on his behalf.
The GoFundMe campaign, which had a goal of $500,000, has been taken down, and the money raised, which was reportedly $13,000 from 300 people, is being refunded to donors.
A spokesperson for GoFundMe stated that ensuring donors’ intentions are honored is their top priority, and the campaign was removed from their platform after John declined the funds.
John’s representative had previously stated that he was hospitalized in June but was not fighting for his life.
