Ahead of Chelsea’s Champions League clash with Borussia Dortmund, head coach Graham Potter has shared his thoughts on the Bundesliga side.
Potter noted that Wednesday will be a challenging contest, as it is a “knockout Stage at the absolute pinnacle” of European competitions.
He was also impressed with Dortmund’s current form – under Edin Terzic, the German giants have won their last six games in all competitions.
Adding to the difficulty of the task, Chelsea currently sit in tenth in the Premier League and are competing to reach top form.
In contrast, Dortmund occupy third place and are just three points behind league leaders Bayern Munich.
When addressing Terzic specifically, Potter showed admiration towards him – describing him as “extremely positive,” humble, intelligent and articulate.
Despite having managed only one win out of his four performances since taking charge of Chelsea, Potter has remained undefeated in Europe – achieving draws against RB Salzburg and double wins over AC Milan, followed by a victory against Dinamo Zagreb in their final Group Stage match.
With these facts in mind, Potter will undoubtedly be motivated to continue his unbeaten record against Dortmund.
