How to make your own iPhone ringtones for free

To create a custom ringtone on your iPhone using GarageBand, first download and launch the app.

Then, select the + icon to create a new song and choose an instrument or loop to record.

Hit the red Record button to begin recording and stop when finished.

Ensure the track is no longer than 30 seconds and use the green Play button to preview it.

Rename the track and select Share, then choose Ringtone and enter a name if desired.

Select Export and once completed, choose Use sound as… to set it as your ringtone or assign it to a specific contact.

To use the new ringtone, open Settings, select Sounds & Haptics, and choose Ringtone to select your custom tone.

To delete a custom ringtone, go to Sounds & Haptics, select Ringtone, swipe left on the tone, and choose Delete.
