Alex Iwobi, the Super Eagles midfielder, is considering leaving Everton, where he has one year left on his contract.
Despite Everton’s struggles, Iwobi has been a crucial member of the team, playing in every league game and winning the Players’ Player of the Year award.
However, he has expressed a desire to play in the UEFA Champions League next season, rather than making a high-profile move to the Saudi Arabia Pro League like other footballers.
Iwobi has played in the Champions League before and wants to experience it again.
“I won’t go to Saudi Arabia,” Iwobi unequivocally stated in an interview with Brila FM. “I feel like I have a lot to prove with my football, and I would like to play in the Champions League. It has always been my dream; I have played in it before, and I want to have a taste of it again.”
He has entrusted discussions about his potential transfer to his agent and remains focused on his commitment to the Nigerian national team.
Currently, Iwobi is with the Super Eagles as they prepare for their match against Sierra Leone in the Africa Cup of Nations qualification series.
