Evangelist Eliot Uko, founder of the Igbo Youth Movement (IYM) and Secretary of the Eastern Consultative Assembly (ECA), has strongly criticized the continued detention of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), without any charges.
Uko believes that Kanu’s continued incarceration is contributing to the instability in the South East Zone and is urging the Federal Government to release him for the sake of peace and security in the region.
Uko, who is also the Deputy Secretary of Igbo Leaders of Thought (ILT), is appealing to the government to comply with court judgments and the United Nations Opinion and release Kanu.
He believes that peace can only be achieved through mutual political solutions and an atmosphere of camaraderie.
