In a tragic incident, a 100-level cadet at the Nigeria Police Academy in Kano State, identified as A.S. Jika, has reportedly passed away due to alleged negligence at the academy clinic.
According to reports, Jika, a first-year student in the Department of Sociology, died at the institution’s medical center after battling malaria.
A fellow student, who spoke anonymously, claimed that Jika’s death could have been prevented if the healthcare personnel had acted promptly.
The source also mentioned that there have been ongoing complaints about the services at the academy clinic, with students and staff expressing dissatisfaction.
Another cadet highlighted the inadequate treatment provided at the clinic, citing instances where only paracetamol was given for serious conditions like pneumonia.
