INEC Chairman Mahmod Yakubu has released a statement, following the Osun State Governorship Election Tribunal’s decision to sack Ademola Adeleke.
He declared that the BVAS (Bimodal Voter Accreditation System) did not fail during the said election, as he had reached this assessment at a demonstration of the system in Abuja.
However, Mahmod admitted that lessons were to be learnt from the event and strategies have been implemented in order to better transmit accreditation data on the IReV portal.
He noted that results should “rhyme” with accreditation data and urged people to visit the URL created on it by 2.30 pm after they leave the polling unit in order to view the transmission of mock results nationwide.
